Five Luxurious Ski Retreats for the most discerning clients

Ideal snow conditions, a good choice of slopes and fantastic scenery are just some of the components that make for a successful ski holiday. But finding the perfect chalet can transform a run-of-the-mill trip into a truly luxurious escape and identifying one that precisely matches all your requirements can be a challenge.

At ONEE we’ve created a pretty special portfolio of properties to suit all tastes and styles, whether you’re looking for a private spa, a personal chef or panoramic views for two. From an exclusive Alpine retreat to the ultimate Zermatt hideaway, read on for some inspiration.

Chalet Bellevue, Zermatt: The Ultimate in Luxury Ski

Chalet Bellevue, Zermatt: The Ultimate in Luxury Ski

With 360km of slopes to choose from, superb snow and some of the most impressive skiing in the world both on and off-piste, the exclusive Austrian resort of Zermatt takes some beating. So, in our opinion, does Chalet Bellevue, the perfect apres-ski sanctuary, located in the exclusive Petit Village of Zermatt.

Not many chalets can claim to be the ‘Best Ski Chalet in the World’, but this fabulous property – sleeping up to 14 people in 7 beds - certainly deserves the accolade. A private spa and treatment room, a team of house staff and a Michelin starred chef who will create bespoke menu plans for your party are just a few of the highlights of a stay here. Access to the best ski instructors, help securing the best tables at Zermatt’s iconic restaurants and mountain guides for off-piste skiing are also on offer. You could even try heli-skiing or altitude dining.

The Savoy Chalet, Val D’Isere: At the Centre of the Action

The Savoy Chalet, Val D’Isere: At the Centre of the Action

A huge choice of terrain, an excellent choice of on and off-piste skiing and a unique atmosphere which is at once buzzy, but also exclusive, have combined to make Val D’Isere a much sought-after ski resort for over a century. Associated with ski icons including Henri Oreiller, Jean-Claude Killy and the Goitschel sisters, it is now equally famous for some serious apres-ski glamour at Folie Douces or Dicks Tea Bar.

For those who want to make the most of what Val D’Isere and nearby Tignes have to offer, look no further than The Savoy Chalet. A mere stone’s throw from the slopes, this exclusive property is at once opulent, yet cosy, with a huge open plan living and dining area divided by a large open chimney, a TV snug, pool table and even private massage room. From stay-at-home luxury touches such as private chefs, masseuses or beauty treatments to help with booking restaurants, babysitting or ski lessons, a stay here ticks all the boxes.

Chalet du Midi, Chamonix: Tranquillity in the Mountains

Chalet du Midi, Chamonix: Tranquillity in the Mountains

With four ski areas, seriously challenging runs and some exciting off-piste options, the Chamonix Valley has plenty to offer for every level of skier. The scenery here is breath-taking, with towering Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain, taking centre stage. There is also plenty to do for non-skiers, with spas, bars and restaurants to choose from. Visit the ice caves and for those who dare, the Aiguille du Midi viewing platform - a glass box set over a 3,842m high sheer drop - makes for a breath-taking visit.

For a luxurious, truly tranquil retreat from which to enjoy all this, Chalet du Midi is the perfect choice and even has views of Mont Blanc from its beautiful garden. Ideal for families or groups of friends, it has a huge living area with an open log fireplace, fully equipped luxury spa, cinema room and sunken indoor jacuzzi. Interiors are stylish yet welcoming with deep leather sofas and funky zebra armchairs. Sleeping up to 10 in 5 bedrooms, there is space for everyone to spread out and relax, recuperate and indulge in the odd glass of vin chaud. The Chalet is available on either a full service or basic service basis depending on the preferences of your group.
