Luxury rental platform Onee to work exclusively with the trade

- Onee will give agents exclusive access to “off-market properties”

A new online platform will give agents access to luxury rental properties around the world.

Onee Luxury Travel is a distribution platform exclusively for the trade, listing hundreds of high-end home rentals around the globe. The company won’t facilitate direct bookings from consumers but will instead encourage all bookings be made through its agency partners. Consumers will be able to access parts of the website, but all booking and query functionalities, and most of the inventory, will be hidden and only available to vetted agents who gain access to the 'closed' section of the site.

Agents who work with Onee will also gain access to ‘off market’ private homes and property listings.

The platform will give agents visibility of the commission rates for each individual property, which can be scaled up and down by the rental property managers who list the homes on the site.

While the majority of properties will be listed at commission levels of between 10% and 15%, Onee founder Onur Takmak said commission will fluctuate from property to property due to a variety of factors including availability, incentives and promotions, and property price point. He said commission would range between 5% and 40% available and would be set by each rental property manager.

The platform allows agents to search and shortlist their favourite properties, also allowing them to professionally showcase options to clients. Agents also have the ability to mark-up prices before sending quotes to clients, should they wish.

Takmak described his new platform as leading a “distribution revolution”, insisting that many private rental companies have “neglected travel agents” over the years.

Takmak, who comes from a private equity background, said: “We really want to support the trade because [agents] have been ignored or pushed aside when it comes to private rentals. We believe agents are a very, very important part of the chain and we are acknowledging this by our offering and want agents to know that we appreciate what they do.”

He stressed that Onee’s offering was very “honest and transparent in its approach” and would be mutually beneficial for property managers and agents alike.

“Our platform enables property managers to have access, gracefully, to a global army of passionate travel advisors who have access to the biggest consumers of luxury. They’ve been ignored and excluded from this sector for a long time.”

Agents who wish to work with Onee must register on the company’s website (https://www.onee.com). Once their credentials have been vetted and verified, they will be granted access to the ‘closed’ area of the platform.
